Seeking a highly motivated and effective Applications Project Manager working in Mainframe Technology, for a six month contract role with the possibility of extension, to lead the planning and delivery management of projects, ensuring they meet client objectives and contractual commitment at agreed quality standards, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects of various sizes
  • Understand and clearly identify all customer internal and external stakeholder relationships relating to assigned projects;
  • Identify, agree and manage project scope, objectives and deliverables;
  • Implement and maintain clear communication and reporting mechanisms across clients and project teams;
  • Identify and manage the resolution of all project issues, including effective escalation and communication as required;
  • Identify, report and manage all project risks;
  • Produce and maintain accurate up to date project plans at the appropriate levels, covering project schedules, deliverables, P&L, and resourcing;
  • Track and report on project performance, including: quality, deliverables and schedule;
  • Manage and achieve agreed staff utilisation;

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in a IT customer delivery environment;
  • Effective team leadership with demonstrated ability to successfully deliver within large complex programs of work;
  • Experience in project management working within professional services environment;
  • Experience in identifying, assessing and managing risks to the success of the project;
  • Ability to manage projects at multiple levels;
  • Ability to identify and communicate both tactical and strategic opportunities;
  • Excellent people management skills (proactive, consultative and professional approach) commercially aware and articulate;
  • Dedication to providing outstanding customer service to external and internal stakeholders;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Creative and innovative approach to managing customer expectations;
  • Knowledge of MS Project and production of project plans;
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and ability to maintain project budgets;
  • Excellent documentation skills including regular status reporting.

Preference will be given to those candidates with a current Baseline Federal Government Security Clearance.
