A 12+ months contract seeking a Systems Engineer to assist with a new generation Defence communications capability.

The role:

  • Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of System Engineering.
  • Conduct reviews and assessments on the quality and suitability of a range of project deliverables including the project Objective Quality Evidence documentation.
  • Assist with project V&V activities, including scoping, planning, reviewing and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and process Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Identify risks and uncertainties and manage them accordingly in system product life cycle.
  • Conduct engineering activities in accordance with CASG engineering policies.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in teamwork and motivate and mentor developing engineers.
  • Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements, policies, legislative and Seaworthiness framework, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
  • Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into System engineering activities.
  • Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications;
  • Current and relevant system/project engineering experience;
  • Knowledge commensurate with the skill level required of relevant Australian and International Standards, regulations, and Defence requirements;
  • Understanding of the Defence project environment (and Defence methodologies); and
  • Hold a current NV1 Australian Government Security clearance or higher (mandatory).
